Legal IT
Ross Owen founded Alphabyte IT in 2009 after a career in IT at large law firms in Cardiff. Law firms are still at the heart of what we do, and several have been with us for many years.
We know what a firm needs from its IT: systems that are there first thing every morning, client data kept confidential, email you can trust, and someone who picks up the phone when a completion is due and something won’t work.

Security
Firms hold client money and confidential information, which makes them a favourite target for email fraud. The classic attack is a hijacked or spoofed email account that sends a client “updated” bank details just before a completion.
Most of these attacks start with a stolen password, so we close that door first: multi-factor authentication on every account, spam and phishing filtering on email, admin rights locked down and staff shown what to look out for. We can also prepare your firm for Cyber Essentials certification, which more insurers and clients now ask for.
